Fees and Rebates
The Australian Psychological Society’s National schedule of fees recommends Psychologists charge $300 per session.
Our service offers a significantly reduced rate to this:

Registered Psychologist: Session Fee $210 Rebate: $93.35 Out of pocket $116.65
Clinical Psychologist: Session Fee: $225 Rebate: $137.05 Out of pocket $87.95
Senior Clinical Psychologist/Director: $240 Rebate: $137.05 Out of pocket $102.95
Rebates:
A Mental Health Care Plan is available from your GP, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist. This entitles you to 10 rebatable sessions per calendar year, whereby you will receive a rebate of $137.05 (Clinical Psychologist) or $93.35 (Registered Psychologist) per session for 10 sessions
Private Health:
The majority of private health funds provide rebates for psychological services. The rebate amount is dependent upon your provider and the level of cover you have.
Payment of Fees:
Full fees are payable at the time of service. If sessions are being paid for by a third party, funding must be approved and authorised prior to services commencing.
Cancellation Policy:
At QLD Clinical Psychology we understand that at times certain circumstances arise and you may not be able to attend your appointment. However, when we are not appropriately advised of this not only does the client miss out, but also other clients who could have used the session also miss out.
QLD Clinical Psychology requires a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel an appointment. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled within this time period incur a cancellation payment of 50% unless there are extenuating circumstances, which is also true for no shows.
Fee FAQs
Can I just pay the out-of-pocket expense?
Unfortunately, Medicare is designed in such a way that full payment is required first, with the rebate being processed afterwards.
Can I just pay privately or do I need a referral?
Yes, you can pay privately, no referral is needed to attend psychological services.
